We are so fortunate to have such beauty surrounding us. One place to experience the gorgeous outdoors is Cane Creek Gorge which is within the borders of Fall Creek Fall State Park in Pikeville, Tennessee.
There are some beautiful trails to hike and some of the most impressive waterfalls in the East. The Fall Creek Falls tumbles over an incredible sheer 256-foot drop between the lip of the canyon and the pool below.
If you're more into the extreme sports and are an avid climber, rock climbing is allowed in the gorge and you should contact the park office for details on the rules for climbing. The Copperhead Trail is one trail that is dedicated for rock climbing. The many high cliff faces make for some breathtaking rappelling after you've finished that climb.
Camping, biking, and many other outdoor activities are available at this beautiful state park. Go to http://tennessee.gov/environment/parks/FallCreekFalls/ for more information or call 800-250-8610 for Inn and Cabin Reservations; 800-250-8611 for camping.

I don't know about you, but I love climbing on sandstone. Although at times it can be a little slippery to climb, it's not as rough on the hands as granite can be. Some great sandstone climbs are found in the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. Here you'll find some great vertical faces along with overhanging faces. If you like crack, trust me, this is a great place to climb cracks.
Rocktown has some great bouldering problems. Sunset Rock and the Tennessee Wall has some great top rope climbs as well as your traditional climbs, so don't forget your traditional climbing gear. For your sport climbing, Foster Falls is great for warm weather climbing and Obed/Clear Creek is great for your climbing in cool weather.
Make a fun climbing trip in this Tennessee area and get ready for some great cracks, arêtes and corners!
Do you love to learn and look at wildlife out in the wilderness? Are you a frog and toad lover? I remember as a little kid, going down to the little stream in our backyard and catching all the polliwogs or tadpoles (whichever you prefer to call them) and just having so much fun. I was always fascinated with frogs and toads.
All the amphibians of Tennessee come in so many shapes and sizes. The American bullfrog is the largest native frog in the U.S. They run from 3.5 inches up to 6 inches long. The southern leopard frog, green and brown in color, grows to be about 3 inches long. There's also a small spring peeper frog. This little guy is only about an inch long.
These fun little creatures can be found in the many swamps, creeks, woods, and other parts of Tennessee. Be kind to these fun little hoppers when you do track them down!
Nestled up in the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is Dolly Parton's Great Smoky Mountain Family Amusement Park, Dollywood. This spunky, sweet country gal wanted families to witness the beautiful foothills of the Smoky Mountains, and Dollywood has become one of the most popular family vacation destinations.
This spectacular park has thrilling rides for the kiddies as well as the adults. The live entertainment consists of bluegrass, mountain and gospel music with more than a dozen stage shows. There are also demonstrations of blacksmithing, glass blowing and wood carving from Master craftsmen.
Come and have some great fun with your family and enjoy some relaxation time as well in this beautiful piece of heaven just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
